The problem

Prototype is easy. Product is hard.

An LLM will write a spatial tool in an afternoon. You can knock together a Python generative algorithm in half a week. But then you need hosting, secure user management, mapping tools, APIs and a security review. Suddenly you’re looking at months, and the good idea dies.

The basics take ages

Layer management, drafting tools, geometry engine, user settings... You can build it. But it is a large surface area to maintain before you get to the part of your app that is special.

Infrastructure is hard, and security makes it harder

Hosting, APIs, persistence, deployment and servers all have to be built and maintained, and every one has to stand up to a security review.

Driving adoption is difficult

Finding users and training them, scaling support infrastructure, learning from their behaviour, whilst developing your tool can be overwhelming.

Giraffe Code accelerates all three, so you can focus on your unique product, without being overwhelmed.

Introducing Giraffe Code

From prompt to production. On one platform.

Giraffe Code is built to support your app: SDKs, APIs and infrastructure that handle the tricky jobs. Giraffe has battle-hardened drawing, mapping and data abstractions that you can use however you want, and it's all JSON. Your app runs in an iframe, isolated and secure, so your IP is always your own.

Write the app

In JavaScript, by hand or with an LLM, starting from an example app that already works.

Deploy it

Onto Giraffe, in its own sandbox, with sign-in and hosting handled.

Put it to work

Your team opens it in their projects, on the live model, with nothing to install.

Leverage your IP.

SDK · example apps · SQL · backends · API, on one platform

1. SDK

Your app, inside the map.

  • The JavaScript SDK gives your app the project it runs in: its geometry, its layers, the selection and the view.
  • Read them, write them back, and every change lands in the model the rest of the team is looking at. Sign-in and hosting come with it.
The Regrid integration, built on the SDK: parcels on the map with zoning, lot dimensions and land use beside them

3. Data structure

It’s a database.

  • Geometries, projects, layers, users: all objects in the Giraffe database for you to securely access.
  • The schema is optimized for buildings and cities. Giraffe knows what a facade is, and a land use. You get a flexible data model, but one that handles 80% of the use cases with 20% of the complexity.

4. Backends & API

A backend when the app needs one.

  • Run server-side code beside your app for the work that doesn’t belong in a browser. You can host, or we can host: it’s simple.
  • Reach your projects from your own systems via the API. Data comes in from where it lives and goes back out the same way.

5. Scale

Use it in-house, share it, or sell it.

  • Use it across your team, or share it with collaborators who open it in their own projects.
  • Sell it on the Giraffe marketplace, with paid installs billed through Giraffe.

How NSW Government built Land iQ on Giraffe

Property and Development NSW built Land iQ with WSP: a whole-of-government land use platform on Giraffe that brings more than 200 data sources and 75 land-use data types together for faster site identification and due diligence. It led the NSW Government’s Property Audit of land for housing, and helped find emergency accommodation sites after the 2022 Northern Rivers floods.

Build it with us.

Build it yourself with the SDK, or bring in the Giraffe team: we have built most of the hard parts of this already, with simple, transparent pricing.

01

Build it yourself

Your team owns the app; we support deployment, onboarding and training.

02

We prototype with you

We build the first version together. You learn the SDK, we speed up delivery.

03

We build it for you

Tell us the problem. We scope, build and deploy a production app on your instance.

04

Your data, connected

Your internal sources wired into the apps that need them.

What can we build?

Any web app, written in JavaScript, that uses the SDK to work with a Giraffe project. Teams have built cashflow models, parcel and market-data integrations, AI rendering, georeferencing and due diligence reports, each in hours.

Can an LLM write the apps?

Yes, and that is how most of them start. It is plain JavaScript against a small, documented SDK, with example apps to copy from, so an LLM has a short, well-lit path from a prompt to a working app. Chat Code builds one inside Giraffe.

How are apps kept isolated?

Each app runs in its own sandboxed frame and reaches the platform only through the SDK’s authorised functions. An app sees the project it is opened in, not the rest of your organisation’s data.

How do apps get deployed?

Onto the Giraffe platform, where your team opens them in their projects with nothing to install. Sign-in and hosting are handled; you write the app.

Who owns what we build?

You do. Your IP is always yours: the apps, the code and the workflows in them, whether you use them in-house, share them with collaborators or sell them on the marketplace.

Can our other systems talk to it?

Yes. Backends run your server-side code, and the API reaches the same projects from outside, so Giraffe sits in the middle of the systems you already run rather than beside them.

What about procurement, security and hosting?

Enterprise deployments cover SSO, audit logs, an SLA, bespoke datasets and custom apps, with the security documentation procurement will ask for. Giraffe is ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified.
